The prescriptions which have been selected randomly has been analyzed in terms of the compliance of the prescription, and cost per prescription for analgesic drugs prescribed are estimated. The prescriptions that did not have analgesic drugs prescribe are not included. Result: From our study Orthopedic department is the most departments that prescribed analgesic drugs followed by Pain Clinic and Emergency department. Each of the department also has the problem in the completeness of the prescription where the important aspects while prescribing the prescription are not fulfilled by the physician.
Conclusion: The Orthopedic department has the highest number of prescriptions that has been prescribed by the physician to their patient. Other than that, Orthopedic department has problem in the compliance of the prescription in terms of specialist signature where the physician prescribed analgesic drug that require specialist signature which have been listed in list A (A/A*/KK). Store department should manage and control the purchase of analgesic drugs so the cost can be reduced within the budget.
