The study on the effectiveness of Respiratory Medication Therapy Adherence Clinic at Hospital Tuanku Jaafar, Seremban

This work was carried out to study the effectiveness of Counseling Session at Respiratory Medication Therapy Adherence Clinic (RMTAC) in Hospital Tuanku Jaafar, Seremban (HTJS). The subject of our study was the pediatric patient which has been recruited in RMTAC. Out of 50 patients, only 35 of them have met the inclusive criteria which attended counseling session more than one. The study is focused more to the patient medication adherence, inhaler technique and asthma symptoms control. From the 35 RMTAC forms that had been collected, the data that related to this study are being analyzed by using SPSS version 22.0 software to get the result in table form and also used Microsoft Excel Software 2010 version to get the result in graph and chart form. Results shows that, counseling session that conducted by pharmacist affected on patients’ score towards medication adherence, inhaler technique and asthma symptoms control. Furthermore, this study will encourage patients and caregivers to be more committed in attending the counseling session in order to improve their quality of life and increase adherence to asthma medication.
