Pilot study: Evaluation of knowledge, awareness and practice among working and non-working women on folic acid intake during pregnancy in Hospital Bersalin Pulau Pinang

The level of women either working or non-working awareness, practices and knowledge towards folic acid intake during pregnancy have been explored. This study focuses on how much most women knowledge on folic acid intake during pregnancy that is actually resulting many benefits. Our study was done at Mternity Hospital of Penang General Hospital. This study seems to be important to obtain a statistic from the survey done to the population. One study subject was the patient who come to the Out Patient Pharmacy Department of Maternity Hospital throughout the year of 2013. They were chosen randomly and were given a set of questionnaire to answer. The focus of this study is to compare their demographic factors which either they are working or not with how do they practices folic acid during pregnancy, and the level of their awareness and knowledge on folic acid intake. From the 360 filled questionnaires we manage to collect, we go through all of it and key in the data into SPSS version 16.0 software. Instead, this result will be fully used soon on how to improve women for both woking and non working about the correct practices as well as their awareness and knowledge on folic acid intake.
