Abstract

This paper describes the Temperature Control System Using Personal Computer (PC) Interfacing. In the manufacturing process, computer control is often needed to coordinate the component in the process control system. Nowadays, the digital computers have become more compact and cheaper, they are used as integral parts of industrial processes and modern manufacturing. This project was developed with the used of PC to control electrical appliances. The temperature monitoring system continuously collects temperature data from the sensors. This data is then stored in a file and can be retrieved using the user interface program developed. This data then transferred to the computer through serial port (RS232 channel) and displayed. By implementing this system, the temperature can be monitored. The hardware and software are interfaced with RS232 channel and Visual Basic has been chosen that provides various functions.
