Abstract
The aim of the present study was to highlight on familiar hypercholesterolemia (FH), a treatable hereditary cholesterol condition associated with high rates of coronary heart disease (CHD). It discusses how much and in what ways patients with FH involves with the condition FH and CHD among the young patients Fifty cases of hypercholesterolemia patient meeting the inclusion criteria of present study based on Retrospective studies from April 2014 to August 2014.This disease wasrecognizing through the Fasting Lipid profile (FLP) test, which include the test for triglycerides, HDL, LDL, and Cholesterol. Patients whose aged between lOuntil 30 diagnosed to have hypercholesterolemia is included while patients aged above 30 Or below 10 who are presented without hypercholesterolemiawere excluded. Fifty cases of hypercholesterolemia among young patient were studied. In term of age distribution 26% were in an age of group of 10 - 15 years, 33% in 16-20 years, 20% and in 21-30 years age group. Meanwhile male to female percentage distribution was 58 and 42% respectively. Moreover, the records show higher percentage of patient with the family history 70% followed by without family history only 30%. Prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of hypercholesterolemia patient are important in reducing the prevalence of high turnover of high cholesterol level in the blood among young population.
