Abstract

BPA is one of the highest volume of chemical produced globally. It is widely used in production of plastic containers and epoxy resin lining of aluminum can. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has declared BPA to be a “chemical of concern” due to its impact on environment. Therefore, we need to find a method which is practically safe to be used in water treatment plant to reduce the concentration of BPA in the water released into the environment. In this research, P. aeruginosa used originated from a lake in Shah Alam. Its ability to grow in versatile nutrient source makes it interesting to be use in this experiment. Experiment outcome was analyzed with HPLC to determine the BPA concentration in every sample. We managed to find that the species used is a gram negative, rod shaped bacteria which release pyocyaninFrom those three temperature parameters, temperature at 40 shows the highest kinetic of BPA utilization at 8.42x10¯⁹g/s. For temperature of 30 and 50, it is 3.62x10¯⁹g/s and 1.16x10¯¹⁰g/s respectively. Future studies can improve the results by experimenting with the temperature gap between 40 – 50⁰C
