Abstract

Between earth ground and cloud, there is one of beautiful display of flash phenomena happened. It’s happened not depending on time or season. Behind this beautiful phenomena its carries a million of charge that can cause death for living things. Lots researcher has been study about this lightning phenomena. There are few type of lightning such as cloud to ground, inter cloud and between cloud to cloud lightning. Scientist also study and design a protection to protect facilities and living things from this dangerous phenomenon. One of protection is lightning rod. It is a conductor rod that traps for lightning to strike at that conductor rod and flow it safely to ground but this are also an error because lightning is an unpredictable where it can be strike. So, in this research I design a hardware called faraday cage based on what Michael Faraday has been found. I study about faraday cage whether faraday cage can protect electrical equipment and facilities or not by injecting a high voltage in high voltage lab that has been provide by University Teknologi Mara to the faraday cage which differently design.
