Abstract

Commitment of every student to their studies has been priority to the faculty and university itself Therefore the attendances for each class that the students took are deeply monitored. Each student required to acknowledge his or her attendance by signing distinct signature mark on a sheet of paper. This method proof its ineffectiveness since it can be fraud and this will affect their academic result. This paper purpose a much more effective system, a method of gathering student attendances by using biometric identification system. It is fast, reliable and more secured. Fingerprint is used as means of verification. It is scan and match using Griaule GrFinger Desktop Identity software along with the attendance system written in Visual Basic 6. The database is managed using Microsoft Access.
