Abstract
Shadow puppetry, a traditional form of visual storytelling, holds a rich cultural legacy, captivating audiences worldwide. However, ensuring its accessibility to diverse audiences, including those with varying abilities, remains a pertinent challenge. This abstract investigates the integration of accessibility measures within shadow puppetry performances to foster inclusivity and engagement among audiences with disabilities. Through an extensive review of literature and case studies, this study explores various facets of accessibility in shadow puppetry. It examines strategies such as audio description, tactile experiences, multilingual presentations, and adaptive performances tailored to diverse sensory needs. The findings highlight the pivotal role of inclusive practices in shadow puppetry, not only in accommodating diverse audiences but also in enriching the overall artistic experience. In conclusion, this abstract advocates for a concerted effort within the realm of shadow puppetry to embrace universal design principles, thus ensuring that this ancient art form remains accessible and resonates with audiences of all abilities, cultures, and backgrounds.
