Abstract

Slide Presentation: “The explicit and the implicit, and their meanings”

The principles of jurisprudence are considered to be explicit and implicit concepts that are understood from the words of the Quran and Hadith. The explicit is a clear and decisive statement that is easy to understand without further explanation, which makes it easier to determine the law. On the other hand, the metaphor is indirect. The metaphor is used to deepen the meaning of a term. These two concepts are integrated in the interpretation of Islamic law, and a good understanding of both concepts is necessary for scholars to be able to interpret sacred texts accurately.
