Abstract

Charity is not only focused on money and clothes but foods also can be one of the charities to the needs. The current food donation system in Malaysia is done by non-government organization. The objective of this project is basically to simplify the process of food donation from nearby welfare homes as well as to provide accurate location by developing Food Share mobile application. The application focuses on finding the nearest welfare homes within the area of Shah Alam. Android Studio is used for the developing the functions in this mobile application. As for the methodology, Mobile Application Development Life Cycle (MADLC) is adopted throughout the making of this project and only the planning, design, development, prototyping and testing phases are being covered for the project. Besides, donate process, location-based services, geolocation and call functions are included in the mobile application as they are crucial features for the food charity apps. The significance of this project is that it benefits the restaurant who wants to donate edible food excess. Finally, it is hoped that this Food Share apps shall help in donate edible food excess process.
