Industrial training report: MSIB Corporate Consultancy Sdn Bhd. Special project: The impact of foreign direct investment on economic growth in Malaysia

This research paper provides an overview of my internship at MSIB Corporate Consultancy Sdn. Bhd. for six months. MSIB Corporate Consultancy Sdn. Bhd. is a company secretary which has extensive experience helping companies either Sendirian Berhad (Sdn Bhd), Berhad or foundation in the establishment and updating it in order to meet the requirements of the Companies Act 2016. This program provided a comprehensive and immersive experience in accounting and audit department. This program aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, allowing me to engage in day-to-day operations and significant projects, such as preparing audit working paper and audit report. Through this hands-on approach, it developed essential skills, both technical and soft, including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Moreover, this research paper examines the impact of foreign direct investment on economic growth in Malaysia. The aims for this research are to investigate the long-term and short-term effects of foreign direct investment on Malaysia's economic growth and to identify the factors that attract FDI to Malaysia and understand how these drivers influence economic performance. This study shows that that foreign direct investment had a significant impact on specific sectors such as manufacturing, services, and technology. These sectors showed notable growth and productivity improvements due to foreign investments. In conclusion, this research provides a comprehensive understanding of how foreign direct investment influences Malaysia's economic growth and offer valuable insights for policymakers and industry player to further enhance the country's investment climate
