Abstract

PVDF Immobilan Fl membrane has been acknowledged for potential use as a good material compatibility towards protein adsorption in biosensor application. Preliminary for the experiment, the sample PDVF is been charactherized in terms of the pore size, porosity, water contact angle and functional group by using Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), wetting liquid and weighting method, contact angle instrument, Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) respectively. The concentration of BSA adsorbed is measured at λ = 562 nm by using UV-v is spectrophotometer. From the analysis, this particular PVDF-FL membrane was characterized as having the value of water contact angle average 142.715o (highly hydrophobic), porosity at 57.66 %, pore diameter range from 0.375863 um to 0.123583um with the smallest pore has high distribution frequency, and lastly the structure is dominant by the B monomer percentage at 69.53%. In this study, the initial cocentration of protein is varied in range 0.5 mg/L , 1.0 mg/L , 1.5 mg/L , 2.0 mg/L and 2.5 mg/L. The linear equllibrium isotherm model used to approximate with the experimental data are in increasing order as: Langmuir-4 > Langmuir-3 > Langmuir 1 > Freundlich > Langmuir.
