Factors that affect academic performance among UiTM pharmacy students

Pharmacy is one of the critical course that offered in our country, Malaysia. Among pharmacy students at the University Technology Mara Puncak Alam, there must have been students who failed every semester along their course. It seem like something went wrong or any lacks that contribute to the failure of the students and still can be overcome. Research is done to find several factors that affect academic performance among pharmacy students in order to help student success in academic. Therefore, the research objectives include to examine factor that contribute most to academic performance and to identify whether these factors could distinguish differences among students based on academic performance along the courses. This is a cross-sectional study because it covers a selected sample of population. In conclusion, factors such as academic competence, test competence, time management and study strategic do not affect academic performance. Second conclusion, academic performance is the highest ranking factor that contributes to academic performance followed by study strategic, test competence and time management. Third conclusion, there is no statistical difference between second year student and final year students except for test competence and time management.
