Abstract
The interest in microorganisms' secondary metabolites has led to the discovery of many therapeutic agents throughout the years and this includes fungi metabolites. One of the challenges of the compounds is that they will produce self-toxicity which in tum affects the overall growth and productivity of the producing organism. The Adsorption of this self-toxicity can aid in increasing the secondary metabolites being produced. From the experiment, three different types of adsorption resin were added into the culture medium which are Diaion™ HP2MG, Amberlite XAD 7 and Amberlite® XAD 16. The analysis was done by using UHPLC. Addition of adsorbent resin as single or in combination with each other to the culture medium seen to inhibit this self-toxicity mechanism and increase in the overall secondary metabolites production of the fungi but the resins are limited to certain fungi. Besides that, from the addition of resin it modifies the secondary metabolites produce where it increases only one metabolite and reducing the other.
