Abstract

Cash waqf is one of the important instruments in promoting social and economic development, especially among the Muslim community. However, the level of participation in cash waqf contributions is still low even though civil servants have been given the initiative through monthly salary deductions and an effective approach is needed to increase awareness and interest in this practice. Therefore, the objective of this study is to identify the staff's perception of cash waqf management, examine the factors that influence the intention of the staff of the Kelantan Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIK) to contribute to cash waqf and analyze the level of willingness of the staff to contribute and disseminate it to the public. This study uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to MAIK staff to identify factors such as waqf knowledge, religious awareness, belief in waqf management, and social factors that influence their intention in cash waqf contributions. The data collected were analyzed using the Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS) to determine the relationship between these factors and the staff's intention to contribute. The results of this study showed that religious factors were the highest compared to the subjective norms and attitudes in influencing this contribution. This result is expected to provide useful insights to the waqf management in forming a more effective strategy to increase participation in cash waqf, as well as contribute to the development of the Islamic economy in Kelantan.
