Abstract
Receiving grants can be a source of encouragement for researchers to continuously be part of the research culture in APB. Therefore, Geran Inisiatif Akademi Pengajian Bahasa (GIA) was conceived in 2021 and is an initiative to further inculcate the research ethos in APB and invigorate collaborations within APB lecturers and also with external societal members. This Geran Inisiatif APB (GIA) also aligns with the long-term objective of APB to increase lecturers' awareness on grants application and also enhance familiarity with the MyGrants platform. The knowledge gained from GIA will hopefully be translated into lecturers' intention to apply for larger-scale grants such as PRGS and FRGS. Successful GIA applicants are provided with RM5,000 by APB and expected to complete their projects within 12 months. APB lecturers are encouraged to seize this opportunity to explore different research areas and conduct novel investigations.
