LAS682: Urban Forest and Management / College of Built Environment

UiTM, College of Built Environment (2023) LAS682: Urban Forest and Management / College of Built Environment. [Teaching Resource] (Unpublished)

Abstract

The course is founded on the premise that whilst ecological processes of an area be maintained and managed over a period of time, it must, at the same time, accommodate human use and occupancy of the area. Thus, it concerns the forested ecosystems dominated by human activities within the environs of the cities, towns, and other developed areas. The course applies an ecological approach to the management of the urban forest as a whole rather than concentrating on individual tree or stand based on the interrelationship between natural systems and healthy and sustainable community.
