LAS674: Professional Practice / College of Built Environment

The course introduces the profession of landscape architecture and the roles of landscape architects in dealing with various legal businesses and professional aspects of landscape architectural practices. It begins with building understanding of the profession in two bases, the landscape architecture practice and the landscape industry, and how the two are complementary. It then elaborates on the details of the professional and human skills required to establish a career and practice. The course also introduces the business aspect of the practice, elaborating on basic business principles, marketing management, business administration and office procedures, project management as well as the legal concerns and professional liability.
