Abstract

Poor participation among rural farmers to inculcate further in their production makes the SIADP has overcome their several issues and problems that arise in managing their effort to get people involves in the given projects. The adoption of The Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approaches and methods that emphasize local knowledge and enable as well as empower local people to make their own appraisal, analysis, and plans. Researcher only manages to secure 93 respondents out of the targeted sample size of 331 against the total of 2,500 sampling frame, the household head that have been receiving various forms of projects from SIADP, channeled projects to upgrading their socio-economic. Present the result of a survey on The Perception of Farmers towards Government Projects: The Case of Samarahan Integrated Agricultural Development Project (SIADP) through the usage of PRA criteria by ranking and score the project proposals. Such criteria like the technical consistency of the project, the economic and financial soundness of the project, the expected benefits of the project, the implementation capacity of the project management committee, the participation and/ or contribution ofthe beneficiaries and, the sustainability ofthe project. Majority of the respondents ranked and scored for high perception toward the projects-proposal and it was found that there’s the need to continuously adopting
the PRA approach in SIADP.
