Abstract

This project outlines the communication system between a personal computer (PC) and liquid crystal display (LCD). A simple application circuit has been designed and developed to test the functionality of the system. The LCD is used to display information in the form of alphanumeric characters or graphical sign. The information can be easily changed to suit its purpose for public viewing. This paper presents a Visual Basic (VB) 6.0 program for the LCD message display. The software controls the signal output to the LCD display via parallel port of the personal computer. The text message is typed in the VB input text box. This technique is simple and provides a user-friendly interface to display information on the LCD.
