In this post-modern era, all human daily activities from waking up in the morning to going to bed at night are equipped with the use of technology and gadgets resulting from the development of technology. In fact, this social media is used by all groups of society, especially the young generation today. Teenagers in particular see social media as a current trend to fill in activities in their free time as well as socialize in the virtual world. As we know the era of information and technology growing rapidly we believe that all of us have used and own a social media platform. Among the most famous social media are Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Social media is usually used to share daily activity, to know the news all around the world and even to make new friends. Communication technology and social media are basically very beneficial and aim to facilitate human affairs. If used with the right intention, then such things will provide benefits and well-being in life. However, if social media is misused, it will lead to useless and harmful things. Because of this, every social media user, especially those who are Muslim have to practice the Islamic ethics as the guideline in navigating social media in this digital age.
