Abstract
The course is designed as an independent guided landscape planning and design studio to inculcate a landscape architecture culture necessary for a job entry level. Technically, it is the technical extension of the Topical Study where landscape field study meets landscape architectural practice. Specifically, the empirical part of the Topical Study is interpreted as a planning and design project. There are three parts to the course. The first part is a poster presentation of the commemorative analysis of the reference cases. The second part is a poster presentation of the preliminaries and inventory site offered as the empirical study. The third is an analytical study of the site, which culminates as a design or planning or research finding outcome. The learning and work progress in the course is monitored through work-in-progress critique sessions and presentations.
