Abstract
Millennium Sport Centre Sdn Bhd, a new retail business established to meet the high consumer demand for original, well-known branded sport equipment and clothing. The company will sell popular brands such as Adidas, Puma, Lotto, Diadora, and Mizuno. The business is strategically located in the middle of Penang, chosen for its ability to attract customers from different classes, its good transportation links, and surrounding facilities. The decision to enter this market is driven by the low number of competitors in the industry and the significant potential for growth. Furthermore, the high volume of sporting events (in schools, institutions, and clubs) and the increasing consumer interest in collecting branded sports items as a hobby provide a large target market. Millennium Sport Centre aims to serve these organizations by providing a variety of equipment. The business is scheduled to commence operation on January 1, 2001, pending the completion of term loan processing and office modifications.
