Design genesis: unveiling the function complex

Every man is a designer on their own. Almost everything we do is designed because it is the foundation of all human endeavour. The design process is the organizing and structuring of any action towards a desired, predictable goal. The fundamental importance of design as the main underlying matrix of life is undermined by any attempt to isolate it from other things and make it a thing unto itself. Writing music lyrics, creating a mural, creating an epic pantun, or painting a masterpiece are all examples of design. However, design also includes things like choosing your daily wear from your wardrobe compartment, extracting an impacted tooth, creating layers of a kuih lapis masterpiece, selecting teams for a backyard football game, and instructing a young child. The deliberate attempt to impose a meaningful order is called design.
