Abstract

This paper presents the comparison of Radar Cross Section (RCS) measurements of various shapes of radar reflector at 10 GHz frequency. Measurements were carried out in an indoor environment, using the Vector Network Analyzer (VNA). This measurement will take from a few types of shape to get a different result. The values are obtained from the VNA in dB unit. The value of RCS is produced by calculation process. The RCS values were obtained from the radar equation, which was derived from measured transmission loss S21 of each case. The present work focused on investigating the RCS fluctuations of several basic shapes of radar reflectors, in terms of aspect angle taken at every 10 degree interval. From the experiments, it was observed that corner reflector yielded better RCS value than other shapes. The higher the most significant differences are -48.06dB and the lower -57.57dB has found in 260 degree. This thesis can be a reference for those who want to understand the basic concept of Comparison of Radar Cross Section.
