Abstract

This study was carried out to determine the impact of MARDI’s practical training on food processing in developing Bumiputera entrepreneur in Sarawak, which factors in the training delivery that are more competent and also to study the problems faced by Bumiputera entrepreneur. A total of 330 former trainees from 650 population has been randomly selected to be the respondents of the study. A set of questionnaire was designed to gain primary data from the respondents to know in what way the training impacting them. The overall finding of the study indicates that knowledge, confidence and skill were most significant impact on trainees. Meanwhile number of participants and practical aspect of training were two most important factors in training delivery. With regard to problems, the studies show that product promotion and certification were most serious problem faced by entrepreneur. In conclusion, some suggestion have been made to strengthen the impact, improved training delivery and to minimize the problems faced by the entrepreneurs and recommendations for future research have also been included in the final part of the
report.
