BHS170 : Physiology I / Faculty of Health Science

The course provides the student with necessary knowledge of the physiological aspects of the human body for application in their respective areas of study. This is a first part of two courses on physiology for students of physiotherapy and occupational therapy programs. The systems covered in this course include the cellular and tissue level of organization, integumentary system, cardiovascular systems comprising of the blood, heart, vessels and lymphatic system. In each system, students are exposed to the various functions of the systems in normal states. Emphasize is given to the system's involvement in maintaining homeostasis.
