INFORMS Gawai Raya: embracing unity among students and lecturer / Azlinda Aryanshah Chin

Dean’s Appreciation and Award Ceremony was a night that everyone in the School of Information Science UiTM Sarawak was looking forward to. Students filled up their thoughts with outfits to wear while lecturers were joyful to spend a fantastic time with their beloved students. Most importantly, everyone was excited to celebrate the hard work of all the students that have achieved outstanding results during their previous semester and the efforts of the INFORMS Society members who contributed throughout the semester. It is an event where all students and lecturers alike rejoice together. With the help of the INFORMS Society, the INFORMS Gawai Raya program was a success. With great enthusiasm, the INFORMS Society President, Muhammad Amierul Haqeem bin Mohd Faizan, explained that the theme "Gawai Raya" symbolizes the harmony between two major festivities in Malaysia: Hari Gawai, celebrated by the Dayak community in Sarawak, and Hari Raya Aidilfitri, celebrated by Muslims. This theme highlights the rich cultural diversity among the students and lecturers of the School of Information Science. The proximity of these two festive dates is one of the key reasons why INFORMS chose the Gawai Raya theme for this year's Dean's Appreciation and Award Ceremony.
