Oafè / Pandu Purwandaru ... [et al.]

College life is an unforgettable moment for some people. However, abundant tasks and activities cause some students to experience burnout. It can be a crucial problem for them and interrupt their learning process. Our idea, Oafè, a short form for Oasis Cafe, is inspired by an oasis which means a calm place in the middle of chaotic situations, such as problems experienced by students. Some students feel tired and stressed by their college life, therefore a place is needed to chill out and clear their minds. Oafè applies a timber concept combined with industrial design, producing a calm atmosphere with a simple design and neutral colour palette. Oafè implements a mixed traditional and modern system simultaneously. It uses a concept where visitors are given choices of whether to come in groups or alone. Often sitting on a classroom chair for too long is boring, so the no-chair concept on the second floor can be used as a different atmosphere than what is usual in class.
