Abstract
Buceros Bicornis or known as “Enggang Papan” was inspired to develop design of the sculpture as the bird symbolize the nature of UiTM seri Iskandar. “Enggan Papan” are typically found in the forests of the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and the Malay Peninsula. They prefer dense forests and are often found in hilly or mountainous regions. “Enggang Papan” have a unique characteristic such as striking black and white plumage, with a white neck, belly, and tail, contrasted by black wings and upperparts. “Enggang Papan” is not only an ecological keystone species but also a cultural symbol in many regions where it is found. The wings represent hopes and glory as “hopes has wings that make it fly”. Hope is seen as a driving force that propels individuals forward, much like wings allow a bird to fly. It emphasizes the idea that hope is essential for overcoming challenges, achieving goals, and envisioning a better future.
