Abstract
The UiTM Jengka Forest Reserve is a logged-over forest and the area is about 250 acres. The objectives of this research are to study the distribution and the species of palm trees in UiTM Jengka Forest Reserve. We measure 20 lines (line 1 to line 20 except line 9) because line 9 is danger for us to go. In this study, 9 species of palm trees was identified and recorded. There is Rotan (Calamus spp.) which 1713 individuals, Bayas (Oncosperma horridum) which 264 individuals, Kelubi (Eleiodoxa spp.) which 41 individuals, Palas (Licuala spp.) which 900 individuals, Salak (Salacca spp.) which 239 individuals, Pinang (Areca spp.) which 125 individuals, Kabung (Arenga pinnata) which 21 individuals, Nibong (Oncosperma tigillarium) which 12 individuals and Bertam (Eugeissona spp.) which 2 individuals.
