The distribution of Koompassia species in UiTM Jengka forest reserve / Anis Wahidah Md Pazil … [et al.]

The distribution of Koompassia Species was conducted in UiTM Jengka Forest Reserve (UiTMJFR). This study area about 269.34 acre and contain 20 lines. The method of study used is 5m to the right and 5m to the left from the each line. A total of Koompassia Species has been found is categorized based on range diameter breast height (DBH) more than 10cm and above. In this study, the total amounts of Koompassia Species are 76 with two species. There were Kempas (Koompassia malaccensis) are 49 trees and Tualang (Koompassia excelsa) are 27 trees. From this study, it was found UiTMJFR is suitable for plantation of Koompassia Species because UiTMJFR is type of Lowland Dipterocarp Forest. We can see the 64.50% is category on Kempas, for the percentage of Tualang is 35.50%. From this result we can say that UiTMJFR is suitable for Kempas plantation in the future.
