Distribution of Aquilaria spp. in UiTM Jengka forest reserve / Norhaslina Mohd Shariff, Mohd Faizal Izwan Salihudin and Mhd Lukmanul Hakim Mhd Radhi

A research was done to study the distribution of Aquilaria spp. in UiTM Jengka Forest Reserve (UiTMJFR). The study plot is about 49.42 acre in Plot A, B, C and D. These study area is from the edge of UiTMJFR to Line 12. In this study, the distribution of Aquilaria spp. in UiTMJFR is randomly distributed. A total of Aquilaria spp. is 25 individuals in this study plot. All the Aquilaria spp. that has been found is categorized based on range of diameter breast height (DBH). The highest numbers that have found is 10 individuals in second category (10.1 - 20.0 cm) of DBH and the lowest number that have found is I individual in fourth category (31.0- 40.0 cm) of DBH. The Aquilaria spp. that has been found is also categorized based on their height. The highest dominant (10 individuals) the have found is in third category (10.0-15.0 m) and lowest dominant (2 individuals) that have found is in first category (1.0-5.0 m). These data shows that UiTMJFR has a potential in becoming Aquilaria spp. plantation area. These data also show that a nurture of Aquilaria spp. should be done continuously for the sake of the value of Aquilaria spp. and to avoid extinct of Aquilaria spp.
