Abstract

Peat swamp forest makes natural formation from fresh water swamp where the leaf aborts assembly was increase the marsh to form lens which the upper part is level flood normal. The arc can achieve 20 meters thick and obstruct as far as 17 kilometers from one way. Peat swamp forest is the secondly most dominant which fill 20 percentages from the overall in state. More than that, peat swamp forest has a unique which this forest has various flora and fauna. The distribution this forest covering in Sarawak., follow with Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia. This peat swamp forest has the dominant species such as Ramin (Gonystylus spp), Merawan (Hopea spp) which this commercial species. This peat swamp forest play important role to us. Destruction peat swamp forest happen in various aspect make unstable ecology cause various problem with hook with peat swamp forest.
