Abstract

Flooding presents significant challenges for affected communities, particularly in terms of food security. When floodwaters inundate regions, local food supplies are often contaminated, leading to health risks and malnutrition. In such dire circumstances, access to safe, nutritious, and easily consumable food becomes crucial. This design project aims to address the immediate dietary needs of flood victims by developing portable food capsules that are nutritious, easy to carry, and simple to consume, even in distressing situations. The REDY2EAT are designed to meet the critical need for emergency nutrition while minimizing weight to ensure easy transport. Their individual servings make distribution more efficient, particularly in areas with limited resources. The packaging is engineered to be user-friendly, allowing individuals, including children and the elderly, to open it without the need for tools, even under distress. By focusing on ease of use and practicality, these capsules will help ensure that flood victims have quick access to the nutrition they need without additional complications.
