Development of online shopping website application for UiTM Shah Alam students / Nur Sharini Sahirah Saripudin

One of the inconvenient things students have to faced when continuing their studies is when they try to find the cheap and second-hand class materials for their subjects, such as books, notes, art supplies, etc. There is no specific platform for students to find the used class materials, currently students need to post their request and respond to the request by using social media like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and also Telegram. This project shows the development of online shopping system for which the targeted users are from UiTM Shah Alam students. The system is developed using PHP language for the programming part and connected to MySQL to handle the database. Functionality and performance have been tested on the system. The tool used was JMeter. The performance parameters that have been tested on the system were response time and throughput and bandwidth. As for the functionality, the result shows that every button and function such as payment, tracking, adding product to cart, etc worked perfectly fine and the way it supposed to. The system developed now can be used by students to sell and also buy not only class materials but also other products that might help them to generate extra income to support their studies. For future work, the improvement that can be done is adding more secure registration for seller and buyer so safe and trusted transaction can be done on the website. A more user-friendly section for used class material can also be added to the website so that customer can find their desire used class material in a more convenient way.
