The practice of maintenance safety in commrecail building complex / Mohamad Firdaus Omar

The maintenance management of building is an activity carried out to preserve and control the building so that it is in an acceptable standard. A good maintenance is to place into effect a plan whereby facilities and equipment are kept in good repair and in the proper operation condition at all times. The task of operating, maintaining and improving this stock of existing building is the responsibility of the building industry, as much as the production of new buildings. In many ways, it presents a more demanding safety consideration in performing the building maintenance work. The practice of maintenance safety one of the important part in maintenance work for prevent accident at workplaces. A survey was done which was distributed to four different types of maintenance commercial building complex located in Kuala Lumpur in order to know on safety consideration in performing building maintenance works. The survey consists of general information and safety factors relevant to maintenance worker safety which were used to measure the worker safety attitude. Lastly, the accident frequency rate and practice safety procedures are also used as determinants of safety performance adopted by maintenance workers
