Abstract

Ergonomics has been known as one of the other contributing factor to comfort and safety in product usages a result, many manufacturers have taken the initiative to implement ergonomics onto their product in order to convince the consumer on their product advantages and to differentiate from their competitor. However, many mistakes have been done especially in the implementation of ergonomics onto product. In furniture design, we should understand what the basis requirement of ergonomics is. Applying lots of mistakes has been done and this paper will explain in brief the way ergonomics should be implemented in the furniture design. As generations succeed each other, people expectation change, building on historical experiences so that what was accepted by one generation becomes unacceptable to those which follow. What was at one time a relatively local phenomenon, with modem communications have become world wide, living and working conditions are subjected to common demands. The European community is a clear example of this trend, both for reasons of social justice and economy this common market requires that working conditions across its member states shall be broadly equivalent. In pursuit of this equivalence, basis regulatory measures are passed, and many of these now call, overtly, for ergonomic solutions to work problems.
