Abstract

The UiTM Jengka Forest Reserve is a logged-over forest and the area is about 250 acres. This study was carried out in a 500 m x 20 m. In this study, the dipterocarps species which having a girth more than 10 cm were identified and recorded. There are Keruing Mempelas (Dipterocarpus crinitus), Meranti Nemesu (Shorea pauciflora), Meranti Kepong (Shorea ovalis), Meranti Tembaga (Shorea leprosula), Meranti Melantai (Shorea macroptera) in this study area. Meranti Melantai was dominated the study area which having a total of 28 individuals. It was followed by Dipterocarpus and Shorea leprosula (15 individuals), Shorea ovalis (12 individuals), Shorea pauciflora (8 individuals) and Dipterocarpus crinitus (5 individuals).
