Abstract
Rafflesia flower chosen as the logo of the Lundu District Council because of its uniqueness and introduce the place where the plant is first found in Gunung Gading. The logo also serves as one of the strategies to attract more visitors from outside to come to Lundu. While the mountains and each pitcher plant symbolizes the beauty of Lundu town which famous for its green environment. The early history of the beginning of the Lundu District Council as well as other councils in Sarawak was in 1953, chaired by D.L Ruen (1953-1956), which was then known as the Local Authority Lundu (Lundu District Authority). In the early 1957, the Local Authority Lundu District reconstituted and known as the Lundu District Council until the framework of a restructuring (Restructuring of Local Councils) in 1981 came to recognize today that the tasks of management and administration Lundu District. Lundu District Council is located in southwestern part of Kuching and bordering Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia. Covering an area of 1962.2 square km. Lundu District Council is near the town of Lundu, which is opposite of the Batang Kayan river. Administration area under the jurisdiction of the Lundu District Council is an area of 08.16 square km. There are 33 councilors including the Chairman and Deputy Chairman are appointed to the Council by His Excellency, Chief Minister of the State to carry out the responsibilities that have been entrusted to the people.
