Abstract

The research was done to study the distribution of Dipterocarpaceae family in UiTM Jengka Forest Reserve (UiTM JFR). The study plot is about 20 m x 500 m in Base Line 1: Line 5. A total of six species was recorded, namely meranti kepong (Shorea ovalis), meranti melantai (Shorea macroptera), meranti pa'ang (Shorea bracteolata), meranti tembaga (Shorea leprosula), kerning mempelas (Dipterocarpus crinitus) and kerning (Dipterocarpus species) with 6,16,4,2,15 and 35 individuals respectively. The DBH between 15 and 29 cm represent 32 individuals which is the dominant DBH in my studied plot. In this study, the Light Red Meranti represent two species, meranti kepong and meranti tembaga and only species for white meranti.
