Abstract

The Eastern Kelantan is one part of Kelantan· state (Appendix 1). Eastern Kelantan is second bigger area after southern Kelantan, which divided to six district. These districts are Machang, Kuala Krai, Gua Musang, Kota Bharu and Bachok. The total of the land area are 422,374 hectare. From the total area of the land, 169,202 hectares are the forested area that are consist the Permanent Forest Reserve, state land and wildlife protection area. In eastern Kelantan have 3 type of forest. They are Lowland forest, Hill forest and Montane Forest. In this forest, have are three type of the special forest. They are Damar minyak (Agathis dammara) forest and Kerning (Dipterocarpus spp.) Forest and Pya Gelam Forest. They get this name because in this forest get more tree in this species. Forest management in eastern Kelantan Forest is the best in Kelantan State. They had awarded as the best forest under permanent forest management for Kelantan State. The forest management in eastern Kelantan divided to there section. They are the silvicultural system, forest extraction and forest protection.
