Specific gravity of Durio (Durio spp) according to height level and distance from pith / Baharudin Yaacob

This research on specific gravity of Durio is done base on three different parts of the tree. That is base (DBH), middle (50% of clear bold) and top (80% from DBH). This Durio is originally from UiTM, Jengka, Pahang Forest Reserve. In this research, the determination of S.G at different height level was done. Beside that the effect of different distance from pith to S.G were also studied. The results obtained are cause by the different environments, factor anatomical properties and physical properties of the tree. Thus, a more detail research on Durio must be done in order to commercialize it to help boost up the wood industry in the future.
