Abstract

ViDEL is a virtual laboratory system that has been developed for UiTM students. This system is an enhancement from the previous system, Virtual ILearn Community system. The Virtual I-Learn Community system is an extendable from I-Learn UiTM, a kind of Learning Management System (LMS) that is for enhancing online student learning and collaboration. ViDEL’s aim is to create more interactive environment (as compared to previous system) for the UiTM’s student and lecturer for learning purpose. Because of some lacking features in Virtual ILearn Community system, the system fail to be implemented. So in order to improve features from the previous system, the idea of ViDEL has been introduced. One of the limitations is time. Time is very valuable especially for the student. By having ViDEL system, it can save time for the lecturer and student. ViDEL are an online system which can be accessed anywhere and anytime within UiTM network coverage. Student don’t have to waste their time go to the labs. ViDEL can also save cost for maintenance or buying a new device. By having ViDEL, UiTM budget overflow can be overcome and they don’t need take risk when student used the devices. This show how important the improvement of visual and functional features from i-Learn website to be done as the user the user demand for it. This project’s aim is to develop an interactive simulator for educational purpose using extendable public software. As the result, Digital Electronic Tutorial Lab will provide user a learning access such as choose the logic gates, do cabling on the designed circuit and test the circuit designed. Instead of that, it can strengthen relationship between student and lecturer by exchanging knowledge through chatting. In addition, project is a success if user enjoy using the system and at the same time able to enhance their learning experience via online learning.
