Abstract

Financial instruments are utilized by both students and professionals to compute the time value of money in a variety of scenarios. It may be denoted as an intricate computation that defies the capabilities of a standard scientific calculator. While the market is flooded with various types of financial calculators, they are not intended for users who are blind or have visual impairments. Despite technological advancements, currently, these users are limited to a scientific calculator capable of performing fundamental calculations, leaving complex calculations unattended. As a result, it becomes difficult for these users to implement the time value of money, particularly for capital budgeting evaluations. Hence, it is possibly resolved with the creation of the Money Master Calculator (MMC), an endeavor to develop a braille system integrated into a user friendly financial calculator that empowers individuals with visual impairments to autonomously execute complex computations MMC distinguishes itself from conventional Braille scientific calculators by providing innovative solutions for complex financial calculations, while the latter primarily concentrates on general arithmetic. By integrating functionalities such as interest calculations, currency conversion, and capital budgeting appraisal, financial management decisions can be conveniently addressed for users who are blind or visually impaired. Furthermore, the MMC fosters user autonomy, self-assurance, improved financial literacy, and sound decision-making. As market demand for inclusive financial decision tools increases and awareness of accessibility issues rises, the MMC provides manufacturers and distributors with a practical commercial opportunity.
