Abstract

Density of Araucaria ( Araucaria hunsteinii ) were ascertained based on eight parts of tree there are base (10% to 30%), middle was 40% to 60% and top was 70% to 80% of clear bole height which is base describe as Diameter of Breast Height (DBH). The sources of Araucaria woods were selected from Kemasul Forest Reserve at Maran. The timbers of Araucaria are from lightweight softwood group and normally can found at mountain forest. We are studied about the density of Araucaria and the effect of height levels. Beside that we also studies about the effect of distance between heartwood, middle and sapwood. From the research, there are different values between the height levels of tree and between the distances of disc. The effects of that may be due to the species, environmental effect, anatomical properties and the chemical properties of the tree. So, as a conclusion we should doing detail research about Araucaria, which is, can increase more uses in wood industrial.
