Abstract
Wasiyyah or will is a legal document that outlines on how one's estate is to be distributed in the event of affairs after the death of the testator according to Islamic law. Leaving a wasiyyah or will assists in the smooth processing and settlement of the estate administration. It is important and recommended for people to write a will prior to his or her death because a will allows one to decide on what happens to his or her money, property and possessions after death. The reality is that most attitudes of Malaysian are ignorant about the importance of adopting wasiyyah or will. The researches examine the awareness of the importance adopting wasiyyah or will among the government workers. The researcher are choose the government workers as sample due to they have a stable income and financial. Thus, with that convenient condition, do they aware the importance of adopting wasiyyah or will. The data were collected through a survey based on the questionnaires among the government workers in Malaysia. Based on the findings from this study show the knowledge and religiosity have a significant effect toward the awareness the government workers on the importance of adopting of wasiyyah or will.
