Abstract

This study looks only into the area of space standards and not the whole range of planning standards. Planning standards by definition encompass those type of standards listed in the planning use, development and capacity. The wide scope of planning standards .iiakas the study very intricate. It takes the researcher a long time to be familiar with the concept of planning standards, but it may take many more years to enable one to appreciate and handle its controversies as well as difficulties in its application. The primary objective of tills study is to examine the relevancy of planning standards approach in the local context. The approach of study is mainly by reviewing the existing situations in land allocation for community facilities.
