Abstract

This research was implemented to find out the effectiveness of using sentence drills exercise in learning writing skill among Year Five students. The respondents of this research were 16 of the Year Five students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Kompleks Gong Badak. This study is conducted because the particpants were not able to build simple sentences after regular teaching and learning exercise . Therefore, the researcher carried out the research on how to improve the constructing simple sentences skill using sentence drills exercise compiles in a kit. This research was ar^lized quantitatively based on collected data gathered from 2 instruments. They were pre and post test, and a survey questionnaire. The result of the study shows those 16 respondents were able to build the simple sentences very well after a period of intervention. It is concluded that the use of sentence drills exercise is effective in helping students to learn how to construct simple sentence.
